I’m Michael Saravia, a senior UX designer with roots in Canada and Peru, and over a decade of experience turning complexity into clarity. From graphic design to digital art direction and now product thinking, my journey has always been fuelled by one simple goal: helping people achieve what they came to do.
My strength lies in simplifying the complex. I work at the intersection of user-centred thinking and scalable design systems, partnering with businesses to deliver experiences that feel intuitive from the first click. Whether it’s modernising a platform, leading teams through high-impact transitions, or advocating for accessibility, I focus on outcomes that serve both the user and the organisation.
Currently, I’m exploring how UX design fits into the evolving AI landscape. As tools become more intelligent, I’m asking: What remains uniquely human in our practice? How can we continue to deliver meaningful, ethical, and strategic design solutions in a world augmented by AI?
My curiosity has always come from the user, what motivates them, what frustrates them, and what gets in their way. I’ve never stopped listening. That habit has helped me grow from pixel-pushing to systems thinking, building design maturity in the teams I lead and mentoring others to grow into their own craft.
I believe great design does more than work, it earns trust. It respects the customer’s time, speaks clearly, and stays out of their way. That’s the kind of design I aim for every day.
Outside the desk
When I’m not building journeys, I’m thinking about them. I share reflections on the future of UX, how AI is reshaping our roles, and what we owe our users through my articles. I write to give back to the design community, so that others can grow faster than I did.
